About

Background

My name is Kaydence Bodus, and I am a student currently pursuing a degree in physics. Outer space has always fascinated me. Since I was a child, I would chase the night sky, finding the places with the lowest light pollution for a better view of the Milky Way. Whether I was reading books or stargazing, I always knew the universe was going to be a significant part of my life. The true vastness of the universe defines endless possibility and continues to inspire me each day. That being said, one could guess I am a supporter of NASA. From their approach and humility for our climate, and their curiosity towards outer space.

Why This Matters to Me

When I first read the 'Big Beautiful Bill' passed, I was disappointed, to say the least. It felt like a step back from everything the United States has accomplished in space for the past 67 years. A legacy of innovation, discovery, passion, and ambition. While writing this, it became apparent to me that many believe space exploration is pointless. They ask, "What does taking pictures with the Hubble Telescope really do for us?". The truth is that it is just one small piece to the cosmic puzzle, one that answers the biggest questions of our time, both out there and on Earth.
